- Working with Police and Crime Commissioner, Rupert Matthews to ensure our police are fighting the crimes that matter most to local people, while getting Leicester its’ fair share of police officers.
- Promote the Crimestoppers national tip line, so residents can feel confident reporting crimes in their area anonymously.
- Instilling local pride in Leicester’s neighbourhoods, working with local resident associations and councillors, and establishing ward and constituency champions to promote Leicester’s potential.
Making Leicester a safe and pleasant place to be must be everyone’s top priority. While in Government, the Conservatives put 332 more police on the beat in Leicestershire, including right here in Leicester. Now, I’m working closely with our Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner, Rupert Matthews, to make sure these officers are tackling the issues that make you and your family feel unsafe – making sure rioters from this summer are dealt with, increasing police visibility on our streets, and improving measures like CCTV and street lighting.. The last thing we want is for Leicester to become a hotspot for crime, and these actions will strengthen our police presence and make our streets safer for everyone.
We also want to make sure that residents aren’t afraid to report a crime. Together we will promote Crimestoppers, the national anonymous tip line, to empower residents to report crimes without fear. Your voice matters, and anonymous reporting ensures every crime can be addressed.
Finally, we all want to be proud of where we live. I want to work with local residents to make sure that our neighbourhoods are the best they can be. That’s why I will be working with local Neighbourhood Watch Associations, local and county councillors, as well as establishing ward and constituency champions to promote and realise the strong potential of Leicester neighbourhoods.
Together, these initiatives will create a safer Leicester - one where everyone can live, learn and work in a secure environment.
