My Journey
As a first-generation British citizen, my roots are deeply embedded in the culture of our city. My parents came to Leicester from Kenya and India in the late seventies, bringing with them rich traditions and a fantastic work ethic. They made Rushey Mead their home, where they worked tirelessly to contribute to the community while preserving the essence of their heritage.
Growing up in Rushey Mead, I witnessed first-hand the dedication and resilience of my parents and neighbours. I attended Herrick Primary School and Soar Valley College, where the values of hard work and community engagement were instilled in me. I completed my education at De Montfort University, where I broadened my horizons and equipped me with the knowledge and skills to pursue my ambitions.
Leicester has always been more than just a city to me; it is the place that nurtured my growth and dreams. I understand the unique challenges we face because I have lived them. I am committed to unlocking the immense potential that Leicester holds, ensuring that our city thrives and our communities flourish.
