- Launching the "Connected in Creativity" card competition, inviting primary schoolchildren to design cards for Diwali, Eid, Christmas and other celebrations, fostering cross-cultural creativity.
- Hosting bi-annual multi-faith forums that bring together key leaders from different faiths and communities to promote dialogue and understanding.
- Organising quarterly coffee mornings for women from different communities to come together, share stories and build friendships.
We should be committed to building a united and inclusive Leicester where people from all backgrounds feel valued and included. Through multi-faith forums, creative competitions, and regular community gatherings, we will bring people together to celebrate our diversity and foster lasting connections.
The multi-faith forums will provide a platform for leaders from various faiths to share inspiring stories and discuss the important work being done across Leicester. These bi-annual events will promote dialogue and understanding between different communities.
In addition, the "Connected in Creativity" card competition will invite schoolchildren to design cards for key celebrations such as Diwali, Eid, and Christmas. This initiative will encourage cross-cultural creativity and allow young people to express what unity means to them.
Finally, I will host quarterly coffee mornings for women from different communities to come together, share stories, and build relationships. These events will empower women from all backgrounds to seek a common ground, and work together to build a welcoming and supportive community for women across Leicester East.
Together, we can create a more united, inclusive, and cohesive community.
